Dog Friendly Deep Creek Lake activities offer lots of great ways to enjoy the area with your pooch! I put together some of my favorites that you don’t want to miss when you are in the area.
Dog Friendly Deep Creek Lake
-All of our seven state parks are dog friendly. There are certain restrictions, and they are a little more strict during the busy summer season. So, be sure to check the appropriate park website for more details. During the off-season, you can take your pup for a hike on the Canyon Trail at Swallow Falls State Park. Pups can cool off with a swim at Deep Creek Lake State Park. They are allowed to swim from shoreline in all areas except the swimming beach, docks or fishing piers.
-Dog friendly Deep Creek Lake restaurants give you the option of dining with your dog outdoors. Stop by Mountain State Brewing, Co., The Harbor Bar, Honi-Honi Bar, Canoe on the Run, Black Bear Tavern, Lakeside Creamery and Trader’s Coffee House.
-Summertime means boating at Deep Creek Lake! Lake Life Boat Rentals offers pontoons and ski boats that are dog friendly.
-Garrett County has two dog parks. The Deep Creek Lake Lion’s Club has an off-leash dog run at 1249 Bumble Bee Road. There are separate, fenced areas for large and small dogs. Additionally, they have water stations available. The town of Oakland also has a dog park. It is located at 27 Oakland Rosedale Road. It is fenced-in, and dogs can be off-leash. Agility equipment adds to the fun!
–Dog friendly Deep Creek Lake vacation rental homes allow you to bring the entire family. There is no need to board Fido when you choose a dog friendly property. Your pup will love swimming from the dock, napping on the deck or snuggling by a cozy fire.
