Deep Creek Lake fireworks are something that everyone looks forward to year-after-year. Due to COVID-19, many summer events have been cancelled. Keeping everyone safe it of utmost importance.
That being said, this favorite local event is NOT cancelled. The July 4th Deep Creek Lake fireworks are happening as scheduled. Much to the delight of area residents and vacationers, the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce is proceeding with their plans.
When are the Deep Creek Lake Fireworks?
The Deep Creek Lake fireworks are scheduled for Saturday, July 4, 2020. They will begin at approximately 9:30PM. In the event of inclement weather, they will be held on the 5th at the same time. You can tune in to local radio stations: 104.5 WKHJ, 92.3 WKTQ, 95.9 WKTZ, 1050 WMSG radio for live updates on the status of the fireworks.

Christmas in the Village December 6 & 7 The 33rd Annual Christmas in the Village is Friday from 4-8 pm and Saturday from noon-8 pm. Candle luminaries light the way around fire-warmed studios and historic museums during this free event. Meet the artists and purchase gifts. A Great Small Town Christmas December 6 & 7 Tree lighting ceremony, sleigh/carriage rides, treats from Santa, music, shopping and dining specials and more. MORE INFO
2019 Christmas Charity Tour of Homes December 6 & 7 First United Bank & Trust sponsors of the Annual Christmas Charity Tour of Homes with proceeds from this year’s event benefitting Garrett County Habitat for Humanity. MORE INFO
Deep Creek November events center around the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. This is a quieter time of year at the lake. While it might not be jam packed with events, it is a month made for long walks and cozy nights by the fire.

Garrett Regional Medical Center 2019 Gala November 16, 6PM, Wisp Resort Join Garrett Regional Medical Center as they honor the stars of our community. This black tie affair is a fun way to support our local hospital. More Info
Festival of Trees November 28 and 30, Garrett County Fairgrounds Catch the holiday spirit at this favorite event that raises money for the Dove Center. The kids can have breakfast with Santa (make reservations). There are also lots of fun crafts along with a “crazy hair” station. For the grown ups, there are numerous artisans on-hand selling their work. You can check out the beautifully decorated trees that are auctioned off at the end of the event. More Info
Deep Creek Lake late summer events will keep you entertained! I call this the “secret season” as it is one of my favorite times of year in Garrett County. Warm days are perfect for boating and kayaking. Plus, you feel like you have the lake all to yourself. Crisp nights have a hint of the fall season that arrives in late September. My boys love making s’mores and hanging out around the fire pit. Also, vacation rental rates offer you a great value.

Deep Creek Lake Art, Wine & Beer Festival September 7, Noon-6PM Over 200 wineries will be on hand along with numerous craft beers, local and regional artisans, live music, activities for the kids and more.
2019 AYCE Crab and Shrimp Feast September 7, 3-9PM Only 450 tickets are available for this fun event that benefits the Deep Creek Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
Deep Creek events for summer promise fun for the entire family! There are tons of things to see and do throughout July. I put together some “must-dos” if you are in the Deep Creek Lake area. Many of these events are FREE as well, so they are easy on your wallet!
Wisp brings some great local and regional acts to their outdoor stage for FREE summer concerts. Food and drinks are available for purchase, plus they have added vendors selling farm fresh veggies and art.
Fast and Furriest 1K Walk/5K Run is coming up on June 29, 2019! This is such a fun way to spend a Saturday morning during the summer. Taylor-Made is a proud sponsor, and I love that we are able to support great local events that benefit organizations like HART for Animals.
You can register online before June 25, and the registration fee will be reduced. Plus, you will get a t-shirt and goodie bag!
The Garrett County Fair is one of the best-loved summertime activities! There is no shortage of fun for the entire family. The 2019 Garrett County Fair dates are July 27th-August 3rd.
Growing up in Garrett County the fair was not to be missed. Every kid wants to spend as much time there as possible. Rides, games, food and farm animals are just a few reasons to visit the fair at least once during the week.

Deep Creek Lake events are picking up as we enter late spring and early summer! Almost every weekend offers something fun and most are family friendly happenings.
Garrett County Celtic Festival June 1, 10AM-6PM, Friendsville Town Park Celebrating all things Celtic, there are tons of fun activities throughout the day along with great food and beautiful music. Traditional Irish dancing, pipe & drum bands, a Celtic marketplace and history presentations are just a few of the highlights.
Family Day at Spruce Forest Artisan Village June 8, 10AM-2PM, Spruce Forest Artisan Village Village volunteers will offer crafts and activities, a display of Native American artifacts from the region shared by a local archaeologist, music and more. You can stroll through the historic buildings in the Village to learn of their background, and meet with the artisans in their studios.
