Deep Creek events for summer promise fun for the entire family! There are tons of things to see and do throughout July. I put together some “must-dos” if you are in the Deep Creek Lake area. Many of these events are FREE as well, so they are easy on your wallet!
Wisp brings some great local and regional acts to their outdoor stage for FREE summer concerts. Food and drinks are available for purchase, plus they have added vendors selling farm fresh veggies and art.
Fast and Furriest 1K Walk/5K Run is coming up on June 29, 2019! This is such a fun way to spend a Saturday morning during the summer. Taylor-Made is a proud sponsor, and I love that we are able to support great local events that benefit organizations like HART for Animals.
You can register online before June 25, and the registration fee will be reduced. Plus, you will get a t-shirt and goodie bag!
The Garrett County Fair is one of the best-loved summertime activities! There is no shortage of fun for the entire family. The 2019 Garrett County Fair dates are July 27th-August 3rd.
Growing up in Garrett County the fair was not to be missed. Every kid wants to spend as much time there as possible. Rides, games, food and farm animals are just a few reasons to visit the fair at least once during the week.

Garrett County Celtic Festival June 1, 10AM-6PM, Friendsville Town Park Celebrating all things Celtic, there are tons of fun activities throughout the day along with great food and beautiful music. Traditional Irish dancing, pipe & drum bands, a Celtic marketplace and history presentations are just a few of the highlights.
Family Day at Spruce Forest Artisan Village June 8, 10AM-2PM, Spruce Forest Artisan Village Village volunteers will offer crafts and activities, a display of Native American artifacts from the region shared by a local archaeologist, music and more. You can stroll through the historic buildings in the Village to learn of their background, and meet with the artisans in their studios.

Every year, my family looks forward to the Garrett County Celtic Festival! This one day event is truly fun for all ages. The festival celebrates the heritage, arts, and culture of the Appalachian immigrants from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Galicia/Asturias and Brittany. It is a great way to spend the first Saturday in June. Plus, Taylor-Made is a proud sponsor of the event!
Where is the Garrett County Celtic Festival?
The Garrett County Celtic Festival takes place in the Friendsville Community Park along the Youghiogheny River. If you are staying in the Deep Creek Lake area, it is a short fifteen minute drive. There is plenty of parking as well, and attendants can help you find a spot. This is a rain or shine event. There are pavilions and tented areas should you need to find cover.

Festival of Trees Garrett County
November 23 & 24 at the Garrett County Fairgrounds
There is something for just about everyone at this Thanksgiving weekend event that benefits the Dove Center. Breakfast with Santa, activities for the kids, beautifully decorated trees and lots of craft vendors are just a few of the highlights.
Annual Christmas Tree Lighting
November 24, 7PM, Uno’s/Honi-Honi Bar
Check out the Christmas tree lighting on the lawn of UNO and the Honi. Santa will be there for photo too. Area favorite, Boathouse, will start playing at 8PM.
The Deep Creek Lake Art, Wine & Beer Festival is one of the best loved area events. It takes place Saturday, September 8, 2018. Visitors and residents alike enjoy the festivities. It makes for a great Deep Creek Lake weekend getaway. Also, you can bring the entire family. So, there is no need to leave the kids at home!
Tickets are available for $30 in advance or $35 at the gate. If you are not tasting, general admission is $10.
Friday night, before the Deep Creek Lake Art, Wine & Beer Festival, local restaurants host wine pairing dinners. Reservations are suggested. Participating restaurants include: Pine Lodge Steakhouse, Uno Chicogo Grill, Ace’s Run Restaurant & Pub, Dutch’s at Silver Tree, Mountain State Brewing Co. and The Manor Steakhouse.
