Hale Irwin’s Lodestone Golf Club at Deep Creek Lake lays peacefully hibernating under a protective layer of Garrett County snow. The meticulous and artistic shaping work in the fairways, especially the bunkers. They come to life in the wintertime with deep blue hues and steep dark shadows. The artists who take blunt heavy equipment and bend architects concepts and ideas have quietly remained anonymous throughout the years to the golf public. With the snow covered ground highlighting this meticulous art work I feel its worthy of a few photographs to highlight a profession that me and many others have proudly devoted most of their lives to.
